A Super Saturday in Melbourne
A Super Saturday in Melbourne.
Auction sales of Melbourne-based homes show signs of an improving property market in Australia.
Of the more than 1,000 homes up for auction on what is called Super Saturday, 73% were sold. This is an indication of consumer confidence and market growth– the best seen in over two years, says Australia’s Herald Sun.
Predictions for further growth include 5% estimates over the next six months.
Some of the properties sold include:
- A three-bedroom apartment in Prahran at AUD$656, AUD$46,000 over the reserve price.
- A four-bedroom house in Forrest Hill at AUD$670,000, AUD$22,000 over the reserve.
- A one-bedroom apartment in Williamstown at AUD$225,000, within the reserve price.
Super Saturday is Australia’s biggest auction day, held once per year.
