Of all the nationalities searching for property in the United States, the Chinese are seeking out the highest prices, on average US$11 million.

Other foreign nationalities searching out American property, according to research conducted by Knight Frank Residential Research include:

  • Singapore
  • Canada
  • France
  • Italy
  • Australia
  • Brazil
  • UK
  • Russia

While Singaporeans are searching for property in the US$7.5 million range, Russians are looking to spend about US$5.5, or about half of the mainland Chinese.

And although it is the mainland Chinese who are looking to spend the most money, significantly more Brazilians, Australians, Italians and Singaporeans are looking closely at US investments overall, regardless of price.

While the overwhelming majority of foreign nationals are looking for US property in New York, The Hamptons are also popular (on Long Island, NY) as well as Miami, Florida.
